Psychedelic Preparation & Integration

Psychedelic Preparation & Integration

Several years ago, I found myself sitting on the opposite side of medicine.

As a naturopathic physician, I had spent my career helping patients navigate illness, trauma, and healing. Then I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. What began as Stage I disease eventually progressed to Stage IV cancer with liver metastases. I underwent chemotherapy, a major liver resection, colorectal surgery, and months of recovery while confronting mortality in ways that no medical training could have prepared me for.

Against all odds, I currently have no evidence of active disease after Stage IV colon cancer.

Cancer changed more than my body—it transformed my understanding of healing. It taught me that recovery is not simply about surviving. It is about learning to live again.

Throughout my own healing journey, I discovered that meaningful transformation often happens when we create enough safety to face what has been hidden: grief, fear, trauma, identity, loss, joy, love, and the possibility of becoming someone new. My personal experiences with trauma healing, Brainspotting, and psychedelic-assisted personal work deepened my appreciation for the remarkable capacity of the nervous system to heal when approached with curiosity, compassion, and intention.

That journey fundamentally reshaped the way I practice medicine.

Today, I provide trauma-informed psychedelic preparation and integration for individuals seeking to engage with non-ordinary states of consciousness in thoughtful, intentional, and grounded ways. My role is not to direct your psychedelic journey or encourage the use of any particular substance. Instead, I offer a safe, supportive space to help you prepare for legally accessed experiences, process what emerges, and integrate meaningful insights into lasting change.

Preparation and integration are where transformation becomes sustainable.

Together we may explore:

  • Clarifying your intentions before an experience
  • Building nervous system regulation and emotional resilience
  • Understanding trauma, attachment, and protective patterns
  • Preparing for uncertainty and challenging emotional material
  • Processing symbolic imagery, emotions, memories, and insights
  • Integrating spiritual, existential, or end-of-life experiences
  • Translating profound moments into meaningful changes in everyday life
  • Cultivating deeper authenticity, connection, and purpose

My work integrates Brainspotting, somatic awareness, neuroscience, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and years of clinical experience as a physician. I also bring the perspective of someone who has lived through life-threatening illness, navigated profound grief and identity transformation, and experienced firsthand what it means to rebuild a life after surviving.

I have been privileged to support cancer survivors, veterans, first responders, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, healthcare professionals, and individuals navigating chronic illness, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. My goal is not simply to help you understand what happened during a psychedelic experience—it is to help you embody what it teaches you.

Healing is rarely about returning to the person you once were.

More often, it is about becoming the person your experiences have been preparing you to become.

What to expect

Our work together is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique journey. Whether you're preparing for a psychedelic experience or integrating one you've already had, we'll move at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system. Sessions may include conversation, Brainspotting, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and practical tools to help you understand and embody what your experience is asking of you. Rather than offering answers or interpretations, I help create the conditions for your own insight, resilience, and healing to emerge. The goal isn't simply to have a meaningful experience—it's to live a more meaningful life because of it.
